Do you think Harry is treating Sylvia right? Will the relationship survive?

It depends. I don't think Harry would be an easy man to be in a relationship with. He's very set in his ways and he prefers his own company most of the time. Their relationship will depend on how much she wishes him to change. She was married to a cop so she certainly understands the job and how it will effect him and anything he has with her for the rest of their lives.

I think that up to now, the way the relationship is going has suited them both. But Sylvia is looking to step things up - her house is on the market, if it sells she'll likely broach the subject of them moving in together. I don't see Bosch being ready for that.
I think the future of the relationship depends entirely on Sylvia. I see Bosch as easy come, easy go. (Or am I doing him a disservice?)

>3 Sergeirocks: I don't think Harry even wants to think about that scenario. You did him no disservice at all. That is exactly the way Harry is.

I think it would be so difficult for Harry to let Sylvia get any closer than he already has. I think he's just not capable of it. Since Sylvia is selling her house, she's going to want/need Harry to invite her to move in or have them find a house together. Harry cares for her so I think he'll do as much as possible to make her happy but i inevitably they will drift apart.

I think they will probably live together for awhile but I don't see it lasting very long.

Nope. He's pushing her away but not letting her come to court or talking about what is going on in his life right now. And then he's also backed out on spending time with her once or twice. The selling of her house is going to be the straw in the camel's back.

I agree with you all. I think she sees the writing on the wall. Selling her house will force the issue. Either harry will step up...or she’s out. (And i’m guessing she knows how it will end).

I don’t think the relationship will last much past this book. He’s keeping too much from her and also seems to see her out of convenience more than a desire to do so. He’d be perfectly happy being home alone but he’s making a trek out to her place regularly and it seems like he’s doing it to make her happy rather than because he wants to. If her house sells, there’s going to be a difficult conversation.
