Are Harry’s actions influenced by what happened to his mother?

I don't think so. I believe his actions are the result of a moral conscience...police training...and a respect for the operations of the law.

I think Harry acted according to his training and his instinct that his life was in danger.

They might be subconsciously. But at the end of the day Harry is a cop and he is fighting and trying to solve crime. He was ultimately worried about another woman being in that room, so he didn't follow procedure.

I agree with Carole, Eadie and Jodie. His past may have led him to become a cop, but it didn’t influence him to go against his instinct and training
