Member Giveaway winners fake?

Hm, I wanted to change something and then my original messages had gone.

To not leave a weird empty space here: my original question was about my surprise that 5 out of 6 winners of the Giveaway for my book turned out to be accounts that had no books, ratings, or reviews. Apparently this is not out of the ordinary. So now I know.
Kind regards, Wendy

The profiles are probably real.

There are some people who join LT solely in the hope of getting free books, and don't bother to catalog books or to write reviews (which is not required for a Member Giveaway).

Because the winners of Member Giveaways are chosen completely at random, there is no way to avoid having those folks win books on occasion.

not even having the courtesy to respond

As to that, I'm not sure why they should. LT would have given you the addresses to which the books should be sent, and so if the recipient didn't want care about having Dutch mail contact them, they may simply have decided there was no point in responding.
