The Monster at the End of This Book comes close to being the best picture book ever written, as far as I'm concerned. I hope you loved it!

A mother's battle with cancer.

25 Bin Chicken - Kate & Jol Temple
Children's book.

April Reads

31 All Tucked In On Sesame Street! - Lillian Jaine
Children's book.

32 Like Father, Like Son - Michael Parkinson
A "dual biography" written by Parkinson Snr and Jnr.

33 Hendrix the Rocking Horse - Gavin Puckett
Children's book.

34 Another Monster at the End of the Book - Jon Stone
Children's book.

35 A Zero Waste Family: In Thirty Days - Anita Vandyke
I felt this book was more like "how to live simply" rather then "produce no waste".

36 Three Ways to Capsize a Boat - Chris Stewart
Interesting, quick read. Probably of more interest for sailing fans and people who like "messing about on boats".

37 Our Nest is Best! - Penny Olsen, Penny O'Mara
Children's book with beautiful illustrations.

May Reads

38 The Other Side of the Coin - Angela Kelly
The Queen's dresser describes life "behind the scenes" working for the Royal Family. There are two types of books written by "royal insiders" - one that "spills the beans" and one that doesn't. This one definitely does not!

39 Cupcake Catastrophe (Ella & Olivia) - Yvette Poshoglian
Children's book.

40 Eric Bloodaxe, The Viking King - Damian Harvey
Children's book.

41 Winner Winner Bin Chicken Dinner - Kate & Jol Temple
Children's book.

June Reads

42 Parsnips, Buttered - Joe Lycett
A collection of email pranks perpetuated by this UK comedian.

43 The Memory Shed - Sally Morgan, Ezekiel Kwaymullina
Children's book.

44 It's Messy - Amanda de Cadenet
A "self help" book that describes difficult situations the author has faced - but with no real practical solutions offered.

45 Where the Wild Things Are - Barbara Bersche
Children's book. Not the original book of the same name but a spinoff from the movie.

46 Brewed With Balls - Affirm Press
A (largely) picture book about beers with unusual ingredients. After a while, it seemed like a marketing exercise, given the number of times a limited number of brewery companies were mentioned.

July Reads

47 You've Got to be Kidding - Todd Alexander
The follow up book to "Thirty Thousand Bottles of Wine and a Pig Called Helga". It's the continuing story of the author's life on a rural Hunter Valley property. It's not really a stand-alone book - you need to have read the first book to fully understand what's happening in this book.

48 Rent: The Complete Book and Lyrics - Jonathan Larson
The title says it all - the "screenplay" if you will of the stage musical Rent, with a few photos of the original Broadway cast.

49 Pyongyang: A Journey in North Korea - Guy Delisle
A graphic novel depicting the author's short stay (3 months) in North Korea.

50 Island Summers - Tilly Culme-Seymour
Subtitled "Memories of a Norwegian Childhood". Probably more accurately described as "Memories of Holidays to the Same Norwegian Location With Family Members".

51 Pearl the Magical Unicorn - Sally Odgers
Children's book. Quick read.

52 Diary of a Minecraft Zombie - Zack Zombie
Children's book. Quick read.

53 The Adventures of Captain Underpants - Dav Pilkey

68 The Man Who Died Twice - Richard Osman
A follow up to the best-selling The Thursday Murder Club. Very much in the "cosy crime" genre.

69 The Christmas Robin - David Hately
Children's book

70 All the Queen's Corgis - Penny Junor
Very much a "pro-monarchy" look at the dogs in the British Royal Family's recent history.

71 Love Clancy - Richard Glover
Life in a suburban household, as told by the family dog.

December Reads

72 The Madness of Grief - Richard Coles
The title of the book says it all. It covers a year in the life of the author following the death of his husband.

73 The Nerd Herd - Nathan Luff
Children's book.

74 The Last Lighthouse Keeper - John Cook
A memoir of a lighthouse keeper in Tasmania in the late 60s/early 70s. Not as much "lighthouse keeping" in the book as I would have liked. Or rather, there was a bit too much about the author's tumultuous personal life.

75 The Magic Finger - Roald Dahl
Children's book. A Roald Dahl story I'd never heard of. A fairly obvious anti-hunting story.

76 What Do They do With All the Poo From All the Animals at the Zoo? - Anh Do
Children's book.

77 Brat: An '80s Story - Andrew McCarthy
A memoir about Andrew McCarthey's several years as member of the "Brat Pack" in the early-mid 80s.

78 Sea-Cat And Dragon King - Angela Carter
Children's book.

79 22 Dead Little Bodies - Stuart MacBride
Short story. I kept waiting for the three separate storylines to somehow connect together, but they never did...
