Has anyone on this list read any good books that are either fiction or memoir that address the adoption of older children out of foster care? I am adopting a 14-year-old girl out of foster care, and I have been reading books about parenting children adopted out of foster care, but I've yet to come across a "creative" book that addresses this topic. If you know of any, please let me know! I'm also interested in any books that were especially helpful to any of you who have adopted children out of foster care--as I said, I've read many, but am always looking for more!

I haven't read any I would recommend, but a couple of years ago a friend of mine suggested Returnable Girl to me. It's supposedly decent YA lit. Sorry I can't help more. Best wishes.

I liked One Small Boat by Kathy Harrison. It's not really parenting per se, but more like her memoir of her experiences fostering children.
