Just curious. I just started reading this genre about 9 months ago and am really enjoying it. I'm curious to see if there are any other 30-somethings who might like it also.

I had been a comics lover when I was younger (Spider-Man!), but then eventually grew out of it. I've started again to collect, and pick up manga when it catches my eye.

The last one I read was Battle Royale which was incredibly violent, but had such a gripping storyline. I have Araragi Express up next, but it may be a while before I get to it.

Funny thing is that I never liked comics growing up. I think it is safe to say I read more adult novels when I was a teen and now I'm just regressing LOL

I really like the fantasy based manga series. Right now I'm working through D.N. Angel which is an urban fantasy/action type story.

I'm not a big manga fan, but I really enjoyed Persepolis and Maus.

I won't say that I am a big manga fan, but I have read some. My two favorites are Van Von Hunter which actually started off as an online comic, and the Star Trek manga that came out inthe past couple of years. Both of these are American manga titles, though I have read some Japanese manga as well.

I have the whole Maison Ikkoku, Love as a Foreign Language, and some Japanese learning mangas, like Apprendre le Japonais grâce aux Manga, 'Kana et Kanji de Manga' by Gleen Kardy.

For other series, I tend to borrow the ones from the local library, as they have rows of mangas. I have been reading lately Emma, 'Black Rose Alice' by Setona Mizushiro. I used to own the whole Paradise Kiss series, but I needed some other books, so I swapped them on BookMooch.

From my childhood, I used to watch the 'Mysterious Cities of Gold', 'Candy Candy' (Korean Manga from 1980s), 'Ulysses 31', 'Albator', 'Capitaine Flam' and 'Goldorak'. I have them all as DVDs in my collection.
