I used to be on the steering committee for a small university's visiting writers series. As a consequence I managed to get a fair number of books signed. Here's Colum McCann's in Let the Great World Spin.

I have quite a few books signed by authors, some because I went to a reading and others that I've found in used bookstores or book sales.

In I pittori dell'oro : alla scoperta della pittura a Pisa nel Medioevo, co-authored by Lorenzo Carletti, I found this:

"Xmas 2002: Dear Stephanie, In this time of fear of war and dictators who say 'God is on our side', here you have a book of Madonnas and Christ, written by two agnostic and an antipope like me. Together with this little book I want to send you my love and, please, try as a people to stop your crazy President. Love, Lorenzo"

I picked this up at a used book sale at the bookstore at Appalachian State University sometime in the early '80s. I'm not sure who Dr. Harrison was, but looks like he got the author's signature. Anybody read Chinese?

ETA- the author taught at Dartmouth. The book was published in 1973.

When the book owner is an author I figured they should be included. I picked up a 1904 copy of Caleb Williams or Things as They Are. For $3 at an FOL sale. It was apparently owned by Theodore Schroeder initially who was an author in his own right. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theodore_Schroeder Not sure about the identity of Pam Dickinson but there once was a country singer by that name.
Back with pics shortly.
