Not sure how many people noted the big announcement on Maryland Day.
Archeologists have discovered the oldest known colonial site in Maryland. A Fort dating back to 1634. Thought it might be fun to talk about the history and ramifications of this.

Here's a couple of many articles related to it:

I saw the announcement - and looking forward to a trip back to St Mary's City sometime in the near future. I last visited about 5 years ago and it was an interesting one. Have they set up any exhibits about this yet? Is it possible to see the site?

See the site, yes.
Exhibits, not as of yet.

From what I know, they've just started excavating it. Right across the road from the reconstructed Chapel.

It is so close to me, I wanna go be nosy every day. LOL
