I know Arrested Development is a TV show, but there are some real and "fictional" books mentioned. Let's list some and make this group really fit in Library Thing.

Good idea compski! My mind just went blank, but I have been trying to think what I want to watch while I LT tonight...to the DVDs!

The first one that came to my mind was Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl. I know this is a long-shot, but I love that quote:

"I think George Michael is hiding Anne in the attic."
"From who, the Nazis?

That works! Definitely a reference. Oblique references are more fun to catch than outright references too.

Good one, Bib! Tobias was great in that.

How about Tobias's book, The Man Inside Me. All gender specific pronouns should be read as male to reduce confusion! (This book touchstones, but Anne Frank wouldn't? Go figure!)

LOL, that is very weird. Ahh...Tobias' book. I love oblivious people!

The Old Man and the Sea

Maeby's first movie was based on this book!

Remember GOB and the cats on the boat? :D

Mary Poppins!

Tobias as the nanny was Mrs. Doubtfire with a little Mary Poppins thrown in.

Also those Poppins that kept hitting Michael in Wee Britain. I didn't understand the joke in those, except for the slapstick value. Does anyone have any insight?

I thought they were Madeline. But isn't that French? Oh no, now we NEED to know.

Hmmm...Madeline is definitely French. I think they were Mary Poppins, I'm pretty sure they had an umbrella.

#11 I'm really not sure what the point was other than slapstick either. It is funny to be continually hit with the same flying object in the same place! Michael's not so much with the learnin'!

They did look a lot like Madeline, didn't they! I just remember people saying "watch out for the Poppins!" and later Michael saying "That's what they meant." Maybe it was all just a set up for when Michael uses the wire to "zip line" down while rescuing Rita.

Ooh, I think you're right. I forgot about that line.

Yes! Good thinking caseydurfee. Anyone remember what book Lindsey was reading?

I just watched that episode a couple of days ago. You can't tell what book it is, but it looks a bit like my college Algebra textbook.
