December SFF Kit: Last Chance Challenge

It's here! Our challenge for December is to read something you've been meaning to get to all year, but haven't gotten around to yet. Pictured here is what I'm doing - a reread so I can pick up book two in the Broken Earth series and (hopefully) keep track of what's going on.

Please post to the wiki here.

This is a great idea and gives me the opportunity to finish the Plague Times trilogy by Louise Welsh so I will be reading the third book, No Dominion which is a post apocalyptic story.

I'm going to finish off an anthology and a collection I've been dipping into for the November challenge:

Nebula Awards Showcase 2019 edited by Silvia Moreno-Garcia
A Blink of the Screen by Terry Pratchett

Books I never got round to are:

The Parable of the Sower by Octavia E. Butler
The Grace of Kings by Ken Liu

I misplaced my November challenge book until yesterday, so I'm going to try to get it read in December!

Huh I was unaware of this month's theme but I am kind of fulfilling it nonetheless. I'm reading The doomsday book by Connie Willis in order to fulfill my personal goal of reading two novels that have won the Hugo or Nebula prize each year.

I have completed my read of No Dominion and although I found this volume to be the weakest of the trilogy, it is still one that I would recommend.

I read John Dies at the End mostly comedy horror I guess but it does have alternate universe. And it has been one I've been meaning to get to.

Finished and loved The fifth season. I read it when it first came out, and tried to read Obelisk gate a year later and didn't remember enough to go on with. So this was a reread to get me jomp-started on the 2nd & 3rd volumes, which I haven't read.
