Act 5 was much shorter than other acts.

All (? I can't remember!) of Margaret's prophecies come to fruition.

I like Oxford's, "Every man's conscience is a thousand swords." I think that is the best line from the play.

I like the parade of ghosts that visit both Richard III and Richmond.

Richard's III "Conscience is but a word cowards use" really sums up Richard.

The play ends tragically for Richard. The last we hear from him is that he would trade his kingdom for a horse.

As in all of Shakespeare's plays that I have read, there is either a physical or a moral justice contained within. Richard III is no exception.

Now off to find a real history read about Richard III.

Don't remember the ghosts at all. Which is making me think it's really time I read through Shakespeare again.

Actually, when you wrote about the 'venomous exchange between Richard and Anne', back in Act 1, I reread the passage and found I'd quite misremembered it. Really am long overdue for a Shakespeare reread.

>2 Tess_W: I have just joined the group. I read Richard III just over a year ago and as is usual for me I wrote something about it. Here is the link:

>5 baswood: Next year I plan on an immersive Shakespeare year: play, take off on plays, and stage productions.
