After successfully whittling down my BookCrossing TBR to zero last year, I suddenly have a stack in front of me again. I have one book from the Favourite Book of 2020 roundabout to read, two RABCK books that were delivered with it, and two new Favourite Book of 2021 roundabout books that arrived on the same day! So my March goal is simply to finish and pass on as many of these as I can.

I may be biting off more than I can chew but I would like to read 4 books from the TBR piles in March. I have almost finished one so that would only require getting through 3 more. Of course, I have a pile of library books to read and I am hoping to read at least one of the Canada Reads books before the debates start. I'm not sure there are enough hours in the day.

>3 gypsysmom: Did you manage to read any of the Canada Reads books? I had read 3 of them before the shortlist was announced and since then, I'd read What Strange Paradise, which I liked very much. I was out of town visiting family this week and didn't get a chance to listen to the debates but I'm rooting for Five Little Indians, one of my favourite books of the past year, to win.

How did everyone else do this month? I finished one roundabout book and another older one from my shelves, which I'll be releasing shortly. I also passed along one of my other ABC books, which I'd already read before, to my niece. Every book taken off the shelves is a small victory. :)

>4 mathgirl40: I had read What Strange Paradise and Washington Black previous to them being chosen. When I went to put holds on the other 3 at my library I didn't have much hope I would actually get them before the debates but to my surprise I did (well with a little help from BookCrosser Pooker3 who had a copy of Five Little Indians that she passed on to me). So I read it and Scarborough before the debates started and I was listening to Life in the City of Dirty Water before the debates but didn't finish it until after. Since it was the first one voted off I didn't feel any urgency to finish it up but I did want to listen to it since Clayton Thomas-Muller is a Manitoban and a lot of the book takes place in Winnipeg. That's actually the first time in many years that I have finished all 5 of the books within the week of the debates. I thought all the books were excellent and the panellists did a wonderful job this year. I encourage you to at least watch some of the episodes.

>5 mathgirl40: I only read 3 instead of 4 TBR books but since, as I have said above, I read the Canada Reads books in addition to other library books I don't feel too badly about that.

>6 gypsysmom: Congratulations on finishing all the Canada Reads books! Yesterday, my book club at work had a discussion of What Strange Paradise over lunch hour. Everyone loved the book, which is unusual for our book club, as our members have very different tastes!
