Suggestions for who will be next on the list? It's not a list of 'bests', but I guess there's probably more of an interest 'out there' in Australian Authors who are significant, or interesting. I don't intent to strictly rotate through authors according to their gender or whether they are First Nations Australians or newly arrived, but I'm conscious that we've started with an 'old white guy' and we do want to mix it up.
The easiest way to get your favourite author on the list is either edit the Wiki yourself, or post a proposed entry here and I will relocate it onto the Wiki.

Taking Pamelad's observation that these wiki related posts may overtake the group I will cease posting here about updates being made to the featured authors section on the wiki. Feel free to use this topic to discuss Australian authors generally - your favourites and recommendations of course. I'd be very interested also to hear about any who live in your neighbourhood, and if you've noticed that where they - and you - live is reflected in their writing.
I used to walk past Patrick White's place on the way to school, and only just realized he use to write about our suburb. I've never been much motivated to read anything more of his after reading Voss, expecting that nothing else would live up to that. But I'll give a few of them a shot and report back.
