I'm in again. Sorry I didn't get round to posting about my reading. I've been rather busy with the actual reading, I think.

I am definitely in since I missed last weekend!

I'm in, though I would count all of Friday.
ETA: my goal is to finish Cemetery Boys, by Aiden Thomas and get to chapter 11 of Shadow of the Gods, by John Gwynne

I'm in- I started reading again after a time of not really enjoying a book- I was putting everything down.
8benitastrnad
I will be working from home this weekend and will have plenty of time to read, so I am in again.
9thornton37814
I plan to participate either at home with print books or on the road with an audiobook. I've also got a few other things I need to work on, but I'm hoping they won't take long. Updating screen shots on a presentation will probably be the most time-consuming task.

I'm in!

I'm in, also. I'm starting this morning before work because I won't have much time to read this evening. I'm reading Caste by Isabel Wilkerson and The Orphan Sky by Ella Leya.
12Carmenere
I'm in! I'll be continuing on with The Bell Jar, The Vanishing Half and Lessons. Hope to, at the least, complete one of them.
My biggest detriment is evil YouTube that keeps drawing my attention from reading. haha

I'm in - currently reading Divorce Horse by Craig Johnson, The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien, and A Grief Observed by C.S. Lewis.
14cbl_tn
I'm settling in to read on a stormy evening. My priorities this weekend are Red Mandarin Dress and Spider's Web, as well as my daily fairy tale from Grimms' Tales for Young and Old. I'll be in the car some so I should have some audiobook listening time for The Templars' Last Secret.

I'm reading Pandora's Jar Women in Greek Myths by Natalie Haynes

Saturday afternoon update
Books read from: Radium Girls: The Dark Story of America's Shining Girls by Kate Moore. Havana Requiem by Paul Goldstein. Philida by Andre Brink. Templar's Last Secret by Martin Walker. I am listening to Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir.
Books finished in this weekend's Readathon: Radium Girls: The Dark Story of America's Shining Girls by Kate Moore
Book Thoughts: Radium Girls is indeed a dark story. It was a very depressing book to read and I can't say that I enjoyed it. I am about to finish Templar's Last Secret and am really enjoying that novel.
Time reading: 2 hours today.
Time posting:
Food: I ate at a friends house last night and made a really good refreshing summer salad. Wonder of wonders - I found arugula at the grocery store, so I made an arugula salad, with sweet cherries and feta cheese and a homemade vinaigrette dressing. It was delicious and went well with the rather poor pasta sauce and pasta that we had for the main course.
Nonbook activities: It was fun getting together with friends again. All of us had traveled in the last month so we had not seen each other for a couple of weeks. One person went to Maine and Acadia National Park. This is the third person I know of this summer who has visited that park. I think it is the summer hot spot as far as places to visit is concerned. One went to Chincoteague Island for a girls week long trip. One went to Nova Scotia to see her mother, and I went to Washington, D.C. for the ALA conference. We watched the pictures that one of our group took of her trip back in April to Vienna. It was a fun quiet evening out.
Total books finished since the Read-A-Thon Began: 244
Total Time Reading since the Social Distancing read-a-thon began: 642.5 hours since I started participating in the Read-A-Thon that started in April 2020.

I should have a finish today. I might finish a second book, but I suspect it will be Monday or Tuesday, depending on how I split my free time after a day of work between 3 things I need to work on.
My cousin is still hanging on, and no one really knows how long he'll hang on. I suspect it will be this week, but he could hang on up to two more according to the hospice people most familiar with his situation (and according to what I've read). I will need to travel for the funeral. I'm hoping his wife will postpone the funeral until next week if it might be toward the end of this one--just so I can get through an in-person local genealogical speaking commitment for Saturday. We'll see. I've got some back-up plans that might work if missing it is unavoidable.

Books finished in this weekend's Readathon: Templar's Last Secret by Martin Walker. Radium Girls: The Dark Story of America's Shining Girls by Kate Moore
Book Thoughts: The group has done lots of reading this weekend! Yeah for us. I Had a nice discussion on Zoom with the real life Book Discussion group. I am about to finish Ember in the Ashes so I ran to the public library quickly and picked up the next book for a book group. They had it on CD so I will listen to this one. I probably won't get started on it until Wednesday.

Nonbook activities: I didn't do much today except cover my library chat shift. I cleaned out a box of old papers and took them to recycling. We finally got some rain today so I suspect that sometime this week the lawn man will be here to mow the evil green monster. Why do houses have to have lawns?
