I'm in. I think I may finish the excellent history of black people migrating from the South to the North in the mid 20th century US, told through the experiences of a selection of people, The Warmth of Other Suns by Isabel Wilkerson, some time on Friday. I don't expect to finish any others but I hope to make a dent in a few books, especially library loans - so many exciting new books coming out shortly.

Books finished in this weekend's Readathon:

Book Thoughts: I hope to finish listening to Personal Librarian by Marie Benedict. This book is for a real life book club and it was highly touted. Sunday afternoon Labor Day weekend update
Books read from: Angle of Repose by Wallace Stegner. Bug Diary by Amber Fraley. I picked up Battlefield: Farming a Civil War Battleground by Peter Svenson. Transient Dream by Donna Leon. I finished listening to Personal Librarian by Marie Benedict and started Sky Beyond the Storm by Sabaa Tahir.

Books finished in this weekend's Readathon:Bug Diary by Amber Fraley. Personal Librarian by Marie Benedict

Book Thoughts: I drove up to Gadsden yesterday for a knitting rendezvous and listened to the last part of Personal Librarian and now I am done with that. I am going to start Sky Above the Storm and finish that fantasy series, but I have to make a trip to Best Buy and get a cord so that I can listen to it in my car. This book was released in November 2021 and the only sound recordings of the book available are in two formats: downloaded and Playaway. I could only get it from our ILL in Playaway version so I need a cord to fit it and will have to buy it. I had ordered the book for the library but it hasn't come in yet, and I am tired of waiting for it, so I placed the ILL request for it.
Time reading: 1.5 hours today this morning and at lunch.
Time posting:
Food: regular Sunday dinner of Indian food.
Nonbook activities: I had a great time in Gadsden at the knitting shop. Of course, I bought yarn that I didn't really need. I am trying to finish up the projects that I have started and buying more yarn doesn't help accomplish that goal. But the company was good and the tea was great. I had a smokey Russian tea and it hit the spot. Of course, I bought some of it to bring home and add it to my tea stash. I think I have as much tea stashed as I do yarn.

Labor Day weekend Monday noon update
Books read from: Angle of Repose by Wallace Stegner. Battlefield: Farming a Civil War Battleground by Peter Svenson. Transient Dream by Donna Leon. I finished listening to Sky Beyond the Storm by Sabaa Tahir.

Books finished in this weekend's Readathon: Bug Diary by Amber Fraley. Personal Librarian by Marie Benedict

Book Thoughts: I spent a great deal of time yesterday getting the Playaway to work in my car and then figuring out how it worked so I could turn it on and off properly. I tried to hook it up to my computer last night so I could listen to it while working on the computer but finally gave up on that. I will have to listen to it using headphones if I want to do that. I can do that but find headphones a bit uncomfortable for long periods of time. Oh well - anything to hear the story and I am dedicated to finishing this series. I stopped at Barnes & Noble last night because they are having their half-price sale on some books so, of course, I had to purchase three books I won't read for ages. I am thinking I am going to go back and get two more hardback nonfiction titles as they won't get any cheaper than $15.00 for a long time. I have spent a quiet morning talking on the phone and reading.
Time reading: 2.5 hours last night and today.
Time posting:
Food: hazelnut cappuccino from Starbucks this morning. I used my accumulated points and got it for free.
Nonbook activities: Knitting while talking on the phone last night. I am getting lots of knitting done on this scarf. Of course, it is just mindless stockinette stitch but I am making great progress.

Books finished in this weekend's Readathon: Bug Diary by Amber Fraley. Personal Librarian by Marie Benedict and Victoria Christopher Murray. Transient Desires by Donna Leon

Book Thoughts: I turned this Read-A-Thon into a Transient Desires readathon. I started it on Sunday morning and finished it up when I went to bed last night. It was great fun to spend two days with Ms. Leon and Guido Brunetti. I confess that I only read 5 pages in Angle of Repose and only a few pages in Battlefield. I did listen to 2 chapters of Sky Beyond the Storm
