This is the blog that first got me interested in POD Books.
http://girlondemand.blogspot.com/
She reviews those works that she thinks are good. laughs at those that are not and speaks many words of wisdom and warning and just occasionally points out a POD author who has made it big.
She also runs a competition called The Needle Awards, since looking for a good POD book is she will tell you like looking for a needle in a haystack. The prize well real agents and publishers will actually look at and consider the work that is prize enough in this field.
Here is her round up of last years competion.

Interesting note, she will not accept SF or fantasy stories. From skimming over her blog I am under the impression that a lot of POD is non-fiction type novels.
I would really like to know if there are many other self-published fantasy/YA authors out there. I know of exactly two. If you hear of any please let me know :-)
