Hi All,
I've just acquired my second LEC ever, The Crime of Sylvestre Bonnard by Anatole France.
One of the illustrations, however, seems to have a printer's error. It's difficult to capture in photos, but in person it's very blurry. For comparison, here's a close-up of the first (crystal-clear) illustration in the book:

And here's the blurry image. It looks like I've taken a bad photo but this is actually what the illustration looks like:

Does anyone know whether this is a problem with the entire run of this particular book, or did I just get lucky?

>1 quagga: I have a review of the book on my blog here: https://georgemacyimagery.wordpress.com/2022/01/29/limited-editions-club-the-cri...
Mine definitely appears sharper than yours, so it is possible you have a printer defect.

Well, perhaps that explains why the price I paid was almost too good to be true...
Still, I'm happy to finally have gotten a copy –– it has some of my favorite illustrations out of all of my books. I'm glad to see others are enjoying it also. Your copy is in gorgeous condition!

>1 quagga: I checked my copy and the above illustration is much crisper and clearer than your photo.

>4 Sport1963: Thank you for letting me know -- it's a little disappointing to know my copy is uniquely damaged, but I'm glad the whole run wasn't ruined and that there are many fine editions around for others to enjoy.

Give it 200 years, your book's defect will be worth zillions. Or the nukes will fly and all copies of the LEC will become equally defective.
