Any thoughts what Reverend Shipborne’s sins could be and why the tombs and graffiti in the Bell Tower reminds him of those?

What does each person consider a sin? What punishment does each person believe should be invoked for said sin? We are going to have to have aome better insight before we can begin to guess his sins.

It is tantalising however. Each diary entry seems to hint at some very dark secret and the diary is also introducing us to yet more new characters.

He considered them sins that weighed heavy upon him, but we do not have a any clue as to what they were at the time.

I’m harbouring a sneaky suspicion that the vicar may have been HIV+ - it’s the only link I can make from some of his diary entries re his feelings of guilt, and bringing evil (pestilence?) on others.
I may be totally singing from the wrong hymn sheet on this one, and beg his pardon if I am.

>7 Sergeirocks: An interesting theory, I certainly hadn’t thought of this.we certainly need to know more about his back story.

>8 Andrew-theQM: It’s annoying how often authors keep us in the dark about people’s backgrounds. But then, I suppose that’s what gives the game away.

>9 Sergeirocks: Annoying and frustrating.

>7 Sergeirocks: hmmm. that's an interesting one. I was thinking that maybe it was that he'd created a situation and that was his "sin" - ie letting his buddy (whose name I've now forgotten) start the Darrow Farm. I thought he may have discovered that his friend and Verlan were into something shady and were using the boys (esp Dermot) to carry it out.
