So I'm still learning how this challenge works, but here is my rough take on categories, that will have to be refined as I figure things out.

2023 Challenge Categories
ClassicsCat: Based on Rory Gilmore Challenge
ColorfulKitty: Books by BIPOC Authors
ScaredyCat: Horror Books, mostly from GoodReads Choice Awards
Neurokit: Books by neurodiverse authors, or on neurodiverse topics

Categories that probably are absorbed in the above:
YA / YA Fantasy Cat
Fantasy/Sci Fi Cat
Fiction

Will work on cleaning this up as I go.

I need to stop reading 12 books at once, and just finish them. But it's so hard. Plus, the whole day job, sleep, and eating thing really cuts into reading time.

Currently Reading
Book Thief by Markus Zusak (ClassicCat)
The Good House by Tananarive Due (HorrorCat)
The Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa (SFFFCat/ColorfulCat)

>14 AmyLynn: I'm with you--meals, house chores, and sleep really do cut into my reading time!

>14 AmyLynn: I'm not far behind you with nine books on the go at once (although a few of them haven't been touched in months and probably should be bailed on).

Also, welcome aboard and have fun with your challenge!

Holy crap I lost track of time. Good thing I didn't stop reading!

For April, which is where we are now, here's where I'm at.
He who fights with monsters book 5
Felix Ever After

Those are the two for sure for this month. Mid-read remaining are:
Crooked Kingdom
This is My America
Hollow City
A Court of Thorns and Roses
Reverie
Cackle
The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay
Backlash
The Complete Poems Anne Sexton
The Resting Place

And paused and probably not going back:
Angela's Ashes
Christine
Cujo
Little Fires Everywhere
Gwendy's Final task
Strange Weather
Catch-22

And because I am a glutton for punishment, I'm looking at starting 1 or 10 of the below:
Lesbiana's Guide to Catholic School
The Only Good Indians
Helter Skelter
Overground Railroad
Beyond Magenta

Never mind the 3 arcs I need to finish and review this month...but how is YOUR reading going on day 3 of April?

>17 AmyLynn: Yes, the important thing is that you don't stop reading! I frequently fall behind in my thread too.
