I really didn't start shopping Bookman's Corner on a regular basis til after the pandemic, to those willing to dig there were treasures to be found.I owe a set of Pepys and Boswell Life of Johnson to Bookman's.

I knocked over at least a couple of tottering stacks in there. One time, learning I'd studied French, he gave me a whole sackful of kids' books in French, and tossed in a fantastic Petit Robert that's still sitting in high style on my shelves.

It was sad to hear of Mr Chandler's passing, but cheered a bit when seeing a pic today of the books being packed into a U-Haul (rather than tossed into a dumpster). Fingers crossed his devotion is passed forward.

Thanks for posting, I was not a regular customer but I certainly visited (and purchased books) on multiple occasions over the years. Chandler's store was a delight and a cultural marker.
