Were you surprised at his ex-partner’s reaction when Bosch asked for him to do a search? Why do you think he reacted this way?

I think the LA Police, especially during that timeframe, were highly politisized and the best way to protect yourself was an "Every man for himself" attitude, if only for your own protection.

I wasn’t totally surprised, knowing what an ass Pound is. If he’d found Edgar doing favours for a suspended Bosch, it would have got Edgar into deep trouble. It was knee-jerk reaction to want to protect himself.

No as Bosch was considered a loser by the higher ups and that’s why he was ignored.

Harry has never been popular, and I see things haven't changed. >3 Sergeirocks: He has struggled with Pound since book 1 and will probably still be on the same track in book 100. I remember that Harry got a new office just because Pound wanted him out of the building that his office was in. Said he couldn't stand to breathe the same air any longer.

Not a surprise. Harry is someone you do not want to be seen associating with in this highly political Police Department.

They were all cutting their losses and protecting their back from a bad penny. Harry might of expected more for him but not as if he built strong friendships.

I wasn't surprised as I'm sure Edgar was resisting being pulled into whatever Harry was up to but I thought he'd come around in the end.

It seemed cold, but I don’t remember a lot from the prior books. From what you all posted above, it sounds like Harry might have deserved it.

I think Edgar wondered what Bosch was up to and how it might negatively interfere with his own career.
