To my surprise. I am enjoying this story.

>2 JohnDBurke: It’s a very different type of crime story, and most probably a good one to come in at as tells us a lot about Harry and his past.

>5 Andrew-theQM: I agree with this observation. Four books in and for the first time I feel that I am beginning to know more of who Harry is.

>2 JohnDBurke: I like Harry's story but I also like the LA setting. I lived in LA for awhile and a lot of the places that are named are familiar to me. (Two of my favorite restaurants were The Pantry and Gorky's.)

It's a good crime story, and reminds me of the character Burke from Andrew Vachss' novels. He's got his defenses, that's for sure, and I'll be interested to see how Burke changes as he goes through this investigation and deals with his "vacation."
