If Mittel wasn’t the killer, any thoughts at the time who was?

Back in the last section, I started to get a feeling there was more to Meredith/Katherine's story but I dismissed it at the time. As soon as Bosch realized that it wasn't Mittel, I knew it was Meredith

As soon as Carmen mentioned the belt, I realized it must have been Meredith.

Harry's inability to contact her was bothering me but I thought that perhaps she was another victim of Mittel and his 'tidying up' operation.

As mentioned before, I briefly considered Irving. But i was pretty lost by this point. I did not consider Meredith at all…even with the clue of the belt with 2 different ‘worn’ buttonholes on the belt.

Didn’t pick up on this, at all. I thought it might have been Irving.
Completely surprised at this.

I was not sure and did not make the connection with Meredith until Carmen laid that picture out - gold with silver just don't combine on accessories. I didn't get the 2 worn buttonholes except maybe that maybe Marjorie had gotten pregnant (with all that it implies in 1961).
