Your First Vampire/Werewolf novel?

I thought I'd throw the topic out there for all vampire and werewolf fans: what was your first were or vamp themed novel? Or perhaps a better question which novel made you a fan of the genre and more importantly do you still enjoy re-reading it? For me the first was the Grandaddy of them all: Dracula when I was but a wee thing, I re-read it recently and I was struck again about how contemporary a lot of the themes and techniques Stoker was using were, so I think I can say that I have a fondness for it still that even Sadie Frost hasn't been able to kill.

My first werewolf novel is harder to pin down, but I suspect it was either a teen novel or a Stephen King. Although it's horribly unfashionable now and I'm NO longer a fan, Laurell K Hamilton's Anita Blake series is probably responsible for my huge collection of urban fantasy vampire/were novels, well her and Lisa Jane Smith.

The one that started it all, I must admit, was Guilty Pleasures by Laurell K. Hamilton. I still read the books she puts out. They're like a trainwreck (the Anita Blake Series) - grisly and yet, I can't seem to look away. I started rading her when I moved halfway across the continent and had no kind of familiarity. So I found a few close book stores. A friend in high school had recommended these books, and now here I am, almost 4 years later (yeah, only 4 years - I got into 'em pretty late) and I can say that I'm really glad I found this genre. She was followed closely by Bitten & Stolen, both by the incredible Kelley Armstrong. Kim Harrison was fast on their heels.

I also admit that I do still enjoy re-reading some of the early Anita Blake novels (before Anita caved to the sexual tension), and I still adore all of Kelley Armstrong's books, as well as Kim Harrison.
