Finished up Brothers in Arms, an attempt to apply the "Band of Brothers" treatment to a British tank unit. I thought it was quite successful and I'll be paying attention to this author from here on out.

Finished an excellent Sam Houston and the Alamo Avengers: The Texas Victory That Changed American History by Brian Kilmeade, a military history of the Texas Revolution. It is very much a history-lite kind of book, not a thorough academic history. Still, it was enjoyable and easy read and a good introductory book for those wanting to learn about events.

Finished Battleship Ramillies, basically observations from the last survivors of the ship's crew association. Not bad, but I had hoped for more.

Finished The Battle of Vouillé, a collection of papers, some fairly loosely related to the titular battle. Nothing earthshaking, but some interesting stuff.

Wrapped up Battleship Commander, a much needed biography of Adm. Willis A. Lee, and it's a good one. About my one caveat is that Thomas Hughes' recent biography of Bill Halsey should have made it into the bibliography, as that book brings some nuance into the Leyte Gulf fiasco (while not letting Halsey totally off the hook).

Knocked off Broken Arrow: How the U.S. Navy Lost a Nuclear Bomb, which is mostly a chronicle of the 1965-66 war cruise of the USS "Ticonderoga" during which the incident happened. Dry, but informative.
