Has anyone found Quorn products?

Does anyone know if Quorn products are available in Canada? I tried it in pies while visiting in the United Kingdom and it is delicious. It is exported to the U.S. but so far I haven't found it in any prepared products we import from the U.S.

My favourite vegetarian authors are ((Rose Elliott)) especially (Vegan Feasts), and (The Voluptuous Vegan) by ((Myra Kornfield)).

Quorn is not officially available in Canada. It is not registered as a food and therefor can not be sold in Canada. The reason for this is, that it is made from a fungus (not a mushroom, but the fungus itself). Canadian food authorities have problems identifying it as a safe food resource.
It is available in the USA and many European countries.

Hello, I live in the UK. There are a wide range of Quorn - TM products available Including - pieces, mince, sausages pies, pasties and more. These are made from mycoprotein, the fungus bit. As far as I know they ALL contain free range egg as a binding agent.

There is also at least one similar Vegan product like the Quorn pieces but in my opinion lacking in the taste and texture of Quorn.

#5 Thanks for the information. Lately my local grocery store has started to stock a variety of vegan protein products - some are excellent, but not as good as I remember Quorn to be. I wrote to Quorn and got a very polite reply, no, they don't export to Canada. No reason given, but Papiervisje above, explains.

Hello, Fry's, a UK Company do an excellent food range of Vegetarian (mostly Vegan) products. Their range is said to be available Internationally, but not sure in which Countries. They do the chunky strips, which aren't quite as tasty as Quorn pieces, but similar. See products list on their page:

You are so lucky to have all these wonderful Fry's products available. We are beginning to see more prepared - and healthy - products on the market but I live in a small town, the nearest big city is several hours drive away, so we don't get everything that is around.

I will check with the local health food store who may be able to stock something by request. Thanks for the information and website, much appreciated.

I forgot to mention that although I live in a small town in British Columbia, the area is famous for growing the highest quality fruit and vegetables including grapes and wine-making - so all is not lost!

When we went on holiday to Paris my vegan-OH was amazed by the range of Sojasun products. Here in the UK we only seem to be able to get the yoghurts, but in Paris you could get soy steaks, tagine rice salads...

When he emailed the company to ask why this was the case, they responded that they had tried the full range here in the UK, but consumers had only bought the yoghurts in quantities large enough to warrant their being stocked :(
