So, I recently acquired copies of " A Christmas Carol" and ""The Rose and the Ring", and I'm quite smitten with both of them. I noticed on the title page thay they both say they were printed on "Christmas " for that year, so I was wondering if those more knowledgeable than I had a list of editions that are "Christmas " editions? I think it would be a fun targeted collection goal.
Thank you in advance for any direction.

I don't know if there were any other releases that had "Christmas" printed on their title pages, though there were a number of Christmas-oriented December releases in the early years. "The Chimes" and "The Cricket on the Hearth" were part of the Dickens Christmas collection. The King James Bible's Old Testament was sent to subscribers in time for Christmas. And I believe "The Four Gospels" was a December release.

Thanks for the reply. I wonder if it's simply just their ability to get a press to run the edition on Christmas? I have Cricket (though not the in best condition. Spotting on the covers and paste downs, but the interior otherwise is fine, and for $18 I couldn't pass it up...but, I digress) and it doesn't specifically mention Christmas as the print date, but I'll look into the others you suggested to.see what the title pages say. Thanks!

The Chimes doesn't have anything on the title page

some of The Publications from the Macy Family on this list were sent out as christmas gifts. They may have something like that. Does anyone have any of those?

>1 LeHorla: Whittier's "Snow-Bound" from the first series was issued right around the 1929 Holiday Season, and while not specifically labelled as a Christmas book, it was thematic for a December/Jan release.
