I am in, Silver. My husband is down with COVID, so there will likely be no board gaming this weekend and I can concentrate on my books!

Mom's doing well. Her wounds are healing like they should. Her mental state doesn't seem to have improved this week, she's still hallucinating quite a bit.

Saturday afternoon round-up
Books read from: Next Supper: The End of Restaurants as We Knew Them, and What Comes After by Corey Mintz. Afterlives by Abdulrazak Gurnah. I am listening to a YA fantasy Blood Rose Rebellion by Rosalyn Eves.
Books finished: All Things Wise and Wonderful by James Herriot
Book Thoughts: I have not felt good today and so haven't gotten much reading done. I have made significant progress on Next Supper and am about 50 pages from the end of this enlightening book about the restaurant industry. This book has made me stop and take a hard look at where I am spending my out-of-the-house dining dollars and why. I think this book is going to make my end of the year best list. I also finished listening to All Things Wise and Wonderful and thought that book 3 in the All Creatures Great and Small series was the best of the three, but still I wonder why this series has been so popular? All the love the TV series is getting on PBS doesn't puzzle as there is wonderful scenery, good actors, and significant changes to the timelines of the stories. All of which improve on the books. I suspect that this is one of those series that won't wear well with time.
Non-Book activities: I have spent most of the day knitting and have made very good progress on the second of my Christmas presents that I am knitting. I hope to finish it this weekend and get started on my stocking hat Christmas presents.
Time reading over the weekend: 1 hours
Time posting:
Food: leftover Frito pie. I hope I finish this up soon as my stomach doesn't like that many Fritos.
Total books finished since the Read-A-Thon Began: 347
Total Time Reading since the Social Distancing read-a-thon began: 1004 hours since I started doing the weekend Read-A-Thon back in April of 2020

>3 SilverWolf28: good news!
>6 nrmay: I love The Curse of Chalion.
I'm feeling unambitious, so instead of doing chores I read The Cardinal of the Kremlin for over an hour.

Books finished: All Things Wise and Wonderful by James Herriot
Book Thoughts: I swear that Next Supper is growing pages. I read alot in that book last night and this morning and I am still 40 pages from completing it. Afterlives is proving to be a good book. It progresses slowly but there is so much in it and Gurnah writes beautifully.
Non-Book activities: I am baking this afternoon after I get done with my book discussion meeting. This time it will be a squash sweet bread.
Time reading over the weekend: 2 hours
Time posting:
Food: Indian food. I hope my stomach feels better with that soothing food in it than it did with the Frito Pie.
