Any reaction to what was happening in Macau in Chapter 2. Why did Ju-long want Seichan and Gray? Why the attack from the Triad? Why was Seichan trying to find her mother?

I am lost already. I'm on the boat making tacos and margaritas until it makes more sense.

I’m joining Lynda on the boat. I’m totally lost. I’m bringing Churros for dessert!

>3 bluebird_: I don’t know what Churros are but if it’s dessert I’m having some 😂

This chapter was all very confusing, everyone seemed to want to capture Seichan and Gray for sone reason or kill them. Too many parties and hard to work out what it was all about. I’m sure it will all eventually become clear. We certainly learnt more about Seichan’s mother.

With books of this nature you just have to let the plot build as confusing as it can be and wait for things to become clearer as the story progresses.

It looked to me like this Ju-long bloke knew Seichan and Gray were on certain people’s ’most wanted’ lists and was out to capture them in order to sell them to the highest bidder.

Is the Triad which assaults the VIP room the one belonging to Seichan’s mother? Does her mother want to reach out to Seichan? (Which would beg the question, has her mother always known she’s been out there, or has she just become aware of the fact, possibly because of the Ju-long interest?).

Seichan is looking for her mother because she only recently found out the woman was still alive - we found this out in the previous book, when the POTUS’s brother was discovered to be Seichan’s father and, as he died in Seichan’s arms, he admitted the woman (contrary to Seichan’s belief that she’d died many years ago) was still alive out there.

>9 Andrew-theQM: I didn’t remember it, ☺️, I looked it up on my LT book page, where I leave myself reminders of a book’s plot-line (as I don’t have immediate recall of all the books I read - indeed, some are more memorable than others; and some I just plain want to forget, 😂).

I'm as lost as some of the rest of you. But thank Goodness! I thought I was going to have to drift around on the boat all by myself. Bring lots of chocolate to dip the Churros in. >8 Sergeirocks: Wow! I'm impressed.

Comets to Triads, difficult nexus for me. A person seeking to find a parent can be understood, a story line in itself, hard connection with end of the world plot line.

I think we can get cinnamon churros at Taco Bell.

I think >8 Sergeirocks: has answered the question and I agree with him.

>16 JohnDBurke: The boat is where we have always gone when we have absolutely no idea what is really going on in our books. We started out with a rowboat and went to a yacht soon afterwards. There was just too many of us trying to fit in that little boat! Someone always brings drinks and food, and we rest and refuel our little brains. Feel free to join us at any time...but bring food or drink...or both.
