Genghis Khan’s tomb and body have never been found. Do you think it is likely to still contain the jewels mentioned, or do you feel someone would have raided his tomb secretly?

I feel like someone would probably have discovered it in the past thousand years. I suppose we won't know until (or if) it is ever discovered.

Almost all ancient tombs have been searched for by both archologist and grave robbers, but it seems that this one is still a mystery. It probably has been well searched for, but I can't believe it wouldn't have been some news of it if it had been found... even before the internet. This was a rather interesting short article.

Even though I’m a history buff, I know little of Genghis Khan and had no idea his burial place was unknown. (that will be rectified now, lol. This book has me curious to read more about him). Thanks for the article

>3 Carol420: Thank you for this article Carol. The 'not knowing' is a gift for novelists who can endlessly use their powers of invention to come up with a possible solution to the mystery.

>4 bluebird_: If you want to read more about Genghis Khan I recommend the series by Conn Iggulden, they are excellent books. The Conqueror series.

>3 Carol420: I think if they were raided that it would have been grave robbers who are definitely not going to publicise what they did. It’s possible they have been raided but may well be so well hidden that they are still intact.
Like the idea of Attila the Hun’s grave being below a river - very clever.

>6 Andrew-theQM: thanks! I’ll check it out! I’m definitely interested to read more about Genghis Khan (and Atilla the Hun)

>8 bluebird_: I need to research books for Attila the Hun.

Like a lot of the tombs in Egypt, I’d expect grave robbers to have plundered any likely burial spot of GK by now.

The geography did not lend to an easy search and if a tomb containing that much wealth was discovered it would be very difficult to keep it a secret.
