There seemed to be a lot of meteor activity. Do you think this is a result of the comet? Do you feel this activity could be the source of the end of the world?

I think meteors are usually the culprits in "end of the world" scenarios. Or a zombie apocalypse.

OHHHH.... Just what we need...a good Zombie apocalypse...haven't had one of those in a long time! Comets and meteors are known to come in cycles for some reason. All the activity up there now could produce any number of things, but for the story it was probably the result of the comet.

Yes to both questions…comets, meteors, asteroids are frequently mentioned as cause of devastating destruction. Time to rewatch Armaggedon…

I don’t see a zombie apocolypse coming up…though perhaps that will be Rollin’s next book.

The comet does seem to have brought with it meteorite activity and highly likely this is what will bring the end of the world as we know it.

>1 Andrew-theQM: In reply to the questions: Yes, I think the meteor activity is a result of the comet; and yes, I think the activity has caused the foreseen devastation to Eadie’s part of the world. But I’d want more proof that this extrapolates to ‘the end of the World’; it could just be a localised event.

Meteors and comets seem to go together like apple pie and ice cream, so I say yes. If the world is coming to an end I want my pie and ice cream first.

>8 Sergeirocks: I believe the meteor will result from the comet and agree with Sergei that it will destroy my area of the world if someone does not step in and stop it from happening.
