Were you surprised how light the security was for entering North Korea from China? Why?
2Olivermagnus
I think North Korea and China are close allies. It might be easy to enter North Korea but it's doubtful that the North Koreans would be able to cross into China.

I agree with >2 Olivermagnus:. I'm not sure that either country is all that easy to enter, It might be harder to leave once you're in either one.

Agree with you both. Although, it seems security isn’t too tight from anyplace going IN to North Korea. A serviceman from the US recently joined a public tour of the border and simply ran into North Korea.

>4 bluebird_: How stupid can you be??? I never heard what happened to him other than he was immediately surrounded by border guards. It didn't say if they kept him or threw him back.

>4 bluebird_: very true!

It seemed a surprise it was easy to get into North Korea even from China because you could see enemies and spies against North Korea going in by this route.

I can’t say I’m totally surprised at the lighter security at the border with China. It may be a case of ‘If I leave the door open, they may feel less inclined to barge in, whereas if I lock the door, they may see this as a challenge and come in, guns blazing’.

Not for someone from China, their major source of revenue and support.
