Did you think it was a good idea for them to split up, with some going after the satellite and others hunting the cross? Would you have done things any differently?

No, I’d not have done it differently. Divide and Conquer.

They were running out of time and needed to separate. I think both the cross and the satellite are needed to stop the fast approaching doom.

I agree with >3 JohnDBurke:

I wouldn't have done it at all! But yes, splitting up will get the job done twice as fast and they can get out of there.

A necessary step. Too much to do, too little time.

I don't think they had any choice if they wanted to pursue all options.

This was essential, as others have said, as time was running out, and like John said >3 JohnDBurke: both are needed.
