Any thoughts why there might be animal bones buried in the garden?

I assumed it might have been a beloved family pet, until we found out the Noakes didn't keep pets.

The black shuck exists is some form or fashion. Not the mythical creature per se but these lore usually have basis in some reality. Add to it the finding of an apparent doggy lair if you will with no discernible doggy to be found. Something is definitely up.

Very strange, sounds a bit big for family pets. We are all meant to assume the Black Shuck. As we found later could possibly relate to historic events.

I think it’s a dog that Noakes had been using in his personal research. Dr. Alberti said the bioresearch company tested on animals and humans, no reason to expect Noakes did any differently.
Could be the reason for Ruth’s ‘red-eyed’ dog.

It probably is the Black Shuck as there might be some truth to it.

I’ve no idea…

I hope it was not a pet that the Noakes family kept at their home, even before they had kids. But it was a big dog and adds to the Black Shuck myth being spun in this story.
