Will the fight between Mark Hammond and Paul Noakes at school, that was over a girl, prove to be important? Why?

I think it will end up being important whether or not it really had to do with a girl.

Was it over a girl though? I don't know that for sure. I think it bears some importance simply because of where the author chose to placed the revelation.

Could it have been over the Noakes’s daughter? I think it could be key information.
