Did you think David was genuine when he went to Judy’s looking for Ruth? Why do you think he seems so obsessed with Ruth? Was Judy right to head off to Black Dog Farm with David?

Yes I think David was genuine in his thinking that Ruth should be home and he was worried that she wasn’t there. Judy knew something was happening at the Farm and she and David left to go there.

This didn’t smell right to me; and it especially didn’t smell right that Judy was driving to the farm without any backup, and with Brown in the car with her.

I felt like David Brown was a red herring. I still felt uneasy that Judy was without police backup.

David..stalker? He’s a bit too obsessed with Ruth, and it does not seem to be coming from an infatuation. I was still suspicious of him, especially with him shoeing up at Judy’s home! I guess her instincts are far superior to mine. I was initially quite worried when she went racing to the farmhouse

Not sure what to make of David. I guess he is a perfect red herring when you think of it. Movements so seemingly sinister yet he keeps showing up harmless and even helpful. I would like to see more of him in future books to see how Griffiths develop him.

I agree with the idea that David is far too obsessed with his Department Head to be someone I'd want to get into a car. Especially without alerting the police where you are going and why.
