Nelson said to himself he can’t go on living two lives. Based on this and what his mother said to him what do you think could or should happen in the future?

I think he may end up leaving Michelle to be with Ruth. Michelle had an affair too so their marriage should be over as they are only holding on because of George the baby.

I’m wearing my judgmental hat here. The man is married and has a young son, he should stick by his marriage vows. I’m afraid being unfaithful is one of my pet hates.
(Besides, I don’t really like Ruth all that much…)
I’m sure Eadie’s right, though. He’ll probably leave Michelle for Ruth.

I thought his mother's advice could be interpreted both ways. She said "I think you know what to do". She also expressed regrets about never going forward with Eddie. Everyone is losing in this situation. Is the right thing for him to stay with Michelle and George? He's more comfortable in his relationship with Ruth but it breaks my heart that he would be a part time dad to one of his two younger children. I think the final decision will come down to what Michelle wants. It's possible she might like to start new with someone who appreciates her.
Best scenario. Nelson is killed in the final book and Ruth and Michelle move in together and raise their children..lol

>4 Olivermagnus: 😂😂 i like your conclusion to the series!
I don’t know what to think. There is no good solution. He should have kept his pants zipped up.

I have a feeling he may leave his wife, but I feel this would be a bad decision for everyone concerned. I feel Ruth is too self centred for a long term relationship living with someone in the same house.
Whatever he does there is no winning here for anyone.
Like others have said they have brought this on themselves through having an affair, and even repeating the sex act on more than one occasion.
Heads you lose, tails you lose.

Could happen he may eventually leave his wife but I don't think he will anytime soon. Should happen, Michelle should leave him because I think not very deep down she knows they are still in love with each other and her marriage is on borrowed time.

I feel sorry for Nelson’s son, George, he’s the one who will grow up feeling abandoned if Nelson leaves Michelle for Ruth.

>10 ColinMichaelFelix: This book clearly showed Michelle knows of the love between them.

I think the kids lose in either scenario. I don't think Ruth is cut out for couple-hood, and if tensions escalate between her and Nelson Kate's going to feel it. Ditto with George - he knows his family includes his Dad and he'll be devastated to lose him. Ruth needs to just stop mooning after Nelson for her good and both families' good.
