>1 MaureenRoy:
I came to The Filter Bubble via Nick Harkaway's The Blind Giant: Being Human in a Digital World.

Having bought Future Crimes I skimmed it and gave it to one of my sons for whom it is very relevant.

A book I have found fascinating and pertinent to this thread is Rise of the Robots by Martin Ford, published in 2015.

This is not a book, but rather a US Supreme Court case on restrictive state laws in Texas and Florida that could transform the nature of free speech on all social media:

So it's something to take careful notice of, Tim and everyone.

>4 MaureenRoy: Shorter than a book, and probably old news for US members:

Location tracking, meet abortion bans – authoritarians have too much power (Guardian, 2024-10-26).

Applications don't stop at parents tracking children via smartphone.
