This question surprises me because I can't recall ever having thought of it before. I suppose I presumed that Christians should do all they could reasonably do to help their neighbors, starting with a safe neighborhood, housing, food, water, clothing, education, and employment, etc. But recent reading seems to emphasize that God intends severe trials for all of us in order for us to develop as good Christians.
I'm still inclined to think Utopias are a great idea even if so difficult as to be nearly impossible. I want always to have hope. Please comment on your view. Can we do a poll here?
