I would like to know if you think that being a SLIS student has helped you in your career field.
We have all been to classes and thought they were great, but we find that the information really didn't apply to the real world. Could you have done your job without spending thousands of dollar for college courses?

No. Anyone can check-in and out and shelve books. But, without my education (in my case from IUPUI's MLS program) and the complex understanding of a school library media program I wouldn't/couldn't do half the things I am doing.

I have to agree with you there.
There are a lot of teachers and administrators who think that my job is so easy, any students could do it. But this position needs a confident person who knows where to find the resources, facts and other data and make of it all.
I would love for my classes to have been more reasonable priced ($277 per credit hour is a true hit to the wallet), but it will be worth it.
