I'm an Agatha Christie fan. The first Christie book I read was 'one two buckle my shoe'. I was ten years old. I ve just finished a read called 'hercule poirot 's silent night written by Sophie hannah.

The London Blitz Murders by Max Allan Collins features Agatha Christie in a strong supporting role. Not a bad read.

>1 aggiecloe: I read my first when I was 15: Mystery of the Blue Train. Made a wrong guess on p. 98 and a right guess on p. 106.
The author wasn't fair because some info was concealed. Consequently I guessed the murderer, but not the accomplice. Still, pretty good result. Maybe it was beginners luck. At any rate, that's one of the things that set my ambition to become a writer.

I also started reading her in my teens, I think I was 13, and the first one was probably Hallowe’en Party.

I published my first detective novel a few years back -- Waiting for the Turk: A Harry Tolland novel -- and am working on three more right now. Harry is an ex-NFLer who reluctantly "inherits", after his retirement, his father's PI agency. The novel is set in South Boston and the characters are representative of the "old" Southie.
