Did you think the murder could be linked to the victim’s job, or to her family? Any initial thoughts?

I think the murder could be linked to her family. Kim sometimes linked the beginning of an investigation to a single rose. One by one they picked off the petals around the edge until they got to the heart of the case.

It's hard to tell this early. The family seems weird and the job seems too obvious. I think the old cell phone is the key. Someone from her past might have contacted her. So it could be her job, just an earlier timeframe of the job.

I may be falling down the trap of the obvious, but it feels to me like it could be her job. The timing seems to fit perfectly. But then again her family are weird. Still trying to get my head around then all.

I’d say, given the notorious estate where the killing took place, that the murder was related to her job at Children’s Services.

I think it could be to do with Deanna's job and it seems obvious that the missing phone could reveal a lot about old cases. Perhaps someone has held a grudge for a long time.
I agree about the odd family, particularly sister Sylvie.

>6 Maura49: A very bizarre family, something doesn’t feel right in there.

Too many possibilities for me to hazard a guess.
