Kim didn’t want her mother to have peace. What are your thoughts on her mother and the incarceration? Was the way she was treated right? Should she be released?
2EadieB
Her mother should be incarcerated as the way she brought up her children was shameful. She should not be released as she is harmful to herself and others.

I can understand Kim hating her and wanting her to tormented forever. She was a terrible mother, but she sounds mentally ill. After all these years, the authorities think it's time to see if she's been rehabilitated. I doubt it becomes an issue. Once the mother realizes Kim wasn't the one who sent the letters, she'll get involved in an incident that keeps her behind bars.

It’s tricky as I’ve previously said, she was mentally ill but did abuse and cause the death of a child, and look at the effect she has had on Kim. You can fully understand Kim’s thoughts about her mother and why she strongly feels the way she does. Mikey doesn’t get a chance to live again so in some senses I wonder whether Kim’s mother should be given this chance.

>3 Olivermagnus: I suspect you’re right about the mother sabotaging her parole chances now she’s seen Kim’s look of hatred, 🤞.
After what that woman did to her two children, and Mikey in particular, she deserves everything she gets. Throw away the key…

i can see why Kim would not want her mother released but it has been suggested that the woman sabotaged previous parole applications as she knew that her daughter did not want her to be back in the community. Is this true? If so it does argue a change for the better in her.

>6 Maura49: interesting observation Maura! She must be somewhat rehabilitated to keep herself in the institution as a ‘gift’ to Kim. I also presume she will get into another fight to sabotage her parole now that she realizes kim has not forgiven her.

>7 bluebird_: I’m not convinced by her sabotaging her parole, I think it may well have gone beyond that, especially as she thinks the letters are from Kim.
