Any thoughts on the storyline involving Tina, Ruth and Elenya? How does it fit with the rest of the story and why did Ruth have to die?

Ruth had to die because she was the best witness against Alexa. Tanya contacted her sister, Tina, but I can't figure out how Elenya got involved.

I agree with >2 Olivermagnus: Elena was being tutored by Ruth.

I struggled with the Tina, Elenya and Ruth part of the storyline and making the linkages. I think I must have missed something in the reading. I thought this was how in some way Alex might escape from prison to get Kim.

With Ruth being a chief witness against Alex the murder attempt was a classic Alex move worked out like a champion chess player. The Elenya connection baffled me though.

Didn’t we find out earlier in the book that Ruth’s testimony is the only stumbling block to Alex’s hoped for legal appeal? I could see why Tina was trying to kill Ruth: instructions from her sister, but like everyone else, I could make no sense of Elenya’s presence at the scene.
