I'm guessing YA is desirable based on your books, so The Amulet of Samarkand and the following two books of the trilogy.

Can't go wrong with anything Terry Pratchett, but outside Discworld series and the already recommended one, I suggest Nation .

Earthsea cycle

Books I love in different genres:

Romance: Softly Falling by Carla Kelly
Vintage mystery: The Moving Finger by Agatha Christie
Contemporary mystery: Still Life by Louise Penny
Fantasy: Elantris by Brandon Sanderson
Sci-Fi: On Basilisk Station by David Weber
Classic: The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas

So I know I'm a little late to this, but...
Tamora Pierce
Anything by her, she's a really good fantasy author! Primarily focuses on heroines, with some romance, but it's not the main focus. Writes mostly for a teen-YA age range, but does dip into some serious topics every so often, and her books are very much enjoyed by people of all ages!

I mostly read older stuff, but I made an exception for Crying in H Mart and it was definitely worth it.

Bujold : Warrior's Apprentice ~ space opera with a con job hero. V funny and fast moving and melodramatic.

Stroud : Lockwood and Co Screaming Staircase and lockwood & Co sequels. It was dramatised on Netflix - child ghost busters in a London under curfew from hauntings.

Diana Wynne Jones : Time of the Ghost is a ya fantasy about a girl going back in time to her childhood but as she's a ghost she's v judgey about all of the sisters + can't work out which one she is. DWJ is generally fab.

Dear readers,

I am delighted to introduce myself as Steven Fortner, better known in the literary world as Savage Steve. It brings me immense joy to share that I have written a total of six books, with five captivating entries in the Crimson Ember Origins series, and one mesmerizing installment in the Timeless Peace series.

The Crimson Ember Origins series takes readers on a thrilling journey into a world where demons and the people they haunt intertwine. However, these demons are not what you might typically envision. Through intricate storytelling, I have reimagined their essence, crafting a unique perspective that will challenge your preconceived notions. This series, which I poured my heart and soul into, was published towards the end of last year.

In contrast, the Timeless Peace series explores the protagonist's quest for inner peace while embarking on a time-traveling adventure. Along this transformative journey, they ultimately discover that true peace emanates from a connection with a higher power, rather than the fleeting pleasures found in the world. This book, published earlier this year, delves into themes of self-discovery, spirituality, and the pursuit of harmony.

I wholeheartedly recommend immersing yourself in these series, as they represent the culmination of my dedication and arduous labor. Each page is infused with the passion I have for storytelling, and I genuinely believe that these books have the power to touch the hearts and minds of readers from all walks of life.

Now, I understand that budgetary concerns can sometimes hinder the exploration of new literary realms. However, I assure you that my books are incredibly affordable. I firmly believe that everyone should have the opportunity to embark on these transformative journeys without financial strain.

Thank you for considering my books, and I sincerely hope that you will find solace, excitement, and enlightenment within their pages. Your support means the world to me, and I am deeply grateful for every reader who joins me on this literary adventure.

With warm regards,

Savage Steve (Steven Fortner)

All Aboard! The Railroad in American Life - an excellent overview of the impact of the railroads on the development/evolution of America - it may sound dull but it isn't.
Endurance - a unbelievable story story of survival.
Sagittarius Rising - a personal memoir of WWI combat flying - one of the best books to come out of WWI.
The Fabric of Civilization the impact of textiles on the world - if you like this one then you might want to check out Pockets: An intimate history of how we keep things close
Naked to the Bone - this book is essentially 2 in 1. A chapter on the history of a specific aspect of medical imaging followed by a chapter on the impact of that invention on art and society. She repeats this pattern for each of the advances in imaging.
Ploesti - a history of the ground/air battle of 1 August 1943. The book moves from overview to specific aircraft to specific individuals in those planes and then repeats - it's hard to believe that anyone made it back alive.

Based on your library, try Black Butler or Amulet.

Afternoon Rebecca is this romance that was done in a way that's never been done before. It's basically a couple on a first date done in real time, for the most part. It's weirdly addicting.
