Why do you think Stephanie Nelle was worried about Cotton, when he was working independently? How do you think the strands of the story are connected?

Stephanie concern for Cotton has always been there especially now as he is working independently without support or backup.
Cotton’s mission in locating the Churchill Letters I believe ties in with Nostra Trinita . The Churchill Letters could be used by the Knights or Gallo to trade for the Nostra Trinita.

I think Stephanie warned Cotton and Luke to work with Laura Price temporarily. They need her help and she has institutional knowledge that can speed things up.

I think she became concerned about him when he stumbled onto something she was already interested in.

She knows both strands are connected, so clearly what he is doing is important to the whole thing. She clearly keeps close tabs on him.

Perhaps the fact that Cotton is on a job for British Intelligence is getting in the way of her being able to advise him on intelligence that she could have shared if he’d still been one of her own operatives.
