Who killed Spagna and why? Why did he tell them to get to Cardinal Callo and ‘his’ man’?

Spagna, being the operation head of the Vatican Entity he was killed for a reason having to do with the Papal Conclave and Election. Spagna's knew Gallo Chattterjee were in danger.

The Secreti killed Spagna as they want what is inside the cathedral. He knew that Gallo and Chatterjee were in danger.

I am still unclear on what Spagna was really up to. Lots of killing for a supposedly benevolent group.

I assumed it was the Secreti as he as was with the Entity in a senior position, so can’t see them killing him. As John said >2 JohnDBurke: he knew they were in danger.

>4 Olivermagnus: Lynda I think that’s benevolent, spelt murderous! 🤣

I'm not sure who would have killed Spagna. He and Pollux Gallo seem to know a lot and are placed high in their respective places. Like >4 Olivermagnus: his death was a bit excessive for a supposed group of healers.

I thought the Secreti killed him. I presume because they were concerned he was getting too close to the Nostra Trinita and they want to be sure the Knights get possession, not the Catholic Church

Unusual for such a main character to be killed, I wasn’t expecting this.
Again, I presume it’s the Secreti. I don’t know why Spagna would expressly order them to get to Gallo.
