I think I would have respected his wishes to not publish. But I guess I can also kind of see where his son is coming from.

I think it's useful to remember that Franz Kafka wanted pretty much all of his writing burned after his death. Rather nice that didn't happen.

Three contrasting examples about this matter of writers wanting their posthumous works or drafts being destroyed:
- They didn't honor Kafka's wishes.
- They honored Pratchett's wishes.
- I don't know if Crichton left a definite instruction, but now every scrip of paper found in his desk with a half baked idea is turned into a Michael Crichton book.
So it's a tricky topic.
