‘It’s amazing what you can accomplish if you don’t care who gets the credit’. Do you agree with this Harry Truman quote?

That sounds nice, but most people seeking power would prefer credit.

I read this and thought there are two ways of looking at that:
1 It doesn’t matter who does the job, as long as it gets done. ‘We’ as a whole, therefore, benefit.
2 Let some other sucker do the work, then step over them and take credit for yourself.
Under the former, if you’re happy to give credit where it’s due, it’s a good thing.
However, under the latter, if you don’t care about the effort someone else might have put in then steal the credit yourself, that’s a bad thing.

I agree with it. Too much time, effort and energy goes into either one-upping the next guy or making sure everyone knows how much work you’ve done.
So much more gets accomplished when we just focus on the job at hand and do what it takes to get it done.

I agree with it and it does work.
>3 Sergeirocks: This is a great way to look at it from these two viewpoints. And I'd rather lend my support to #1 than #2.
