Did they do the right thing interrupting the Conclave before the first vote? Why? How would the world’s media react to the interruption do you think?

It was the right thing. We didn't know what Pollux had on the flash drive that he could use to become Pope. The media would have gone crazy if they knew the real reason for the interruption but the story they went with was plausible.

I don’t think they had much choice than to interrupt. Though it was doubtful there’d be a result in the first round, they couldn’t take the risk of it happening.
I would have expected expert handling of the media, not much likelihood of the real facts getting out.

Yes. They could not assume Pollux wouldn’t succeed in the first vote. It was the only certain way to keep him from becoming Pope.

The world will never know about the interruption.

Yes, they did the right thing. And >4 bluebird_: I had not considered that event, that the world would never know. Definitely a result of keeping it from the media.
